The work of three contemporaries in fin-de siècle Paris – composer Erik Satie (1866-1925), painter Henri ‘le douanier’ Rousseau (1844 – 1910), and photographer Eugène Atget (1857-1927) – form the nucleus of this program. Regarded as eccentric outsiders for much of their lives, they each had a profound influence on their artforms. In spite of being familiar figures in bohemian circles, they apparently never met – until now, in a performance that features their work and those who have been influenced by them.
